Ingredients:
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Measure all ingredients. Peel and slice the pears into a baking dish
and set aside. Heat the milk almost to a simmer. Slowly add cream of
rice or wheat, whisking as you add. Add salt and ginger, and coconut
if desired. Simmer on low heat for about 2 minutes. Stir in the maple
syrup and pour the mixture over the pears, spreading to even it out,
if necessary.
Bake for 20 minutes or until the pears are tender.
